Hans in the 50+ mph Gusts

Well that never happened.  It remained the direction it was and blasted some crazy gusts through.  The wind meter that Chris brought down recorded some 60 mph gusts.  So even if it did come through it was a good idea to stay off the water.

The day wasn't all lost though.  The late afternoon provided some very interesting clouds.  I brought the camera with me and got what is probably my favorite photo of the year.  I snapped three exposures and created an HDR using photomatix.  It really brings out the sun shining through the clouds far away and contrasts the darkness of the low ominous clouds above.

Hey Jim. Too bad the wind never switched onshore for us. I was really jonsing for those waves to jack up and get a nutty boost session in. Oh well. Gale will surely return some other time this fall.

I love the Headlands photo. It was crazy out there that day. The clouds don't quite look like how I remember them but that is probably the photo retouching work right? Take it easy.
