Lucky #16 - Our Raft

Lucky Number 16 Raft: Josh (guide), Tracy, Agata, Joel, Doug, Dippy, Phil and Emily

The trip left at 9AM and it rained the whole night and it was still coming down.  We got the raft into the river at the head where 2000 cu ft per second of water is pumped in to make an average river a beast for 6 weekends of the year.  The trip was awesome like it was the year before.  The only exception was the rain the length of the river.  The river water was actually warmer than the air was.  It wasn't too bad while running the river but as we stopped for lunch it wasn't the most fun eating soggy sandwhiches in the cold rain.  Our raft wasn't without action.  Everyone fell out except the girls that were in the boat.  Actually makes it more fun as long as you fall out in a spot that doesn't risk death!

Watching Rafters

Agata Up River of Sweets Falls

Partied the night away and went to bed early.  Everyone hit the road early in the morning except Agata and I.  The sun finally came out so we decided to hike down to one of the class V rapids and watch some of the Sunday groups make the drop.  We went down to Sweets Falls the biggest of the class V's on the river.  The hike was fun.  Down a mountain then a mile hike down an access road to get there.  A few waterfalls were on the was and scenic throughout.  Awesome to see the rafts from the shore and hoping there is carnage for entertainment.  In fact most of the pople on the shore yell out wrong directions to encourage the mistakes.  Super fun!
